For those following the Queensland Government Housing Roundtable, there has been some amazing work behind the scenes from the Planning Institute of Australia and Matt Collins team, which has led to a number of important announcements over the past 24 hours.

A WIN Housing Group alliance brings its Pilot project of 60 social & affordable homes to Regional Qld. A Permanent Rental Affordability development solution.
Land under contract, (location to be announced soon) 30,000m2, sufficient to provide 60 dwellings for vulnerable women – in 6-8 months. A whole of team site assessment has provided a big thumbs up from Wolter Consulting Planning Group, Urban Engineering Solutions, CHP and modular housing representatives. And of course, my own team... 2023 - & the prospect of real housing solutions for Qld's most vulnerable - 7th January 2023
2023 feels promising! Dare I be excited, encouraged about the prospect of real housing solutions for Qld's most vulnerable? 3 top reads which grabbed my attention since 1 January: UDIA National's Driving Build to Rent Report Nov 2022 - One of the great points raised: "Private BTR development should be incentivized to deliver more affordable housing, boost CHP capacity, and close the gap faster."
I too am taking up the challenge, through my Rotary Club - Broadwater Southport, inviting other members to take up this challenge with me. This is such a great initiative, I have extended the challenge to all Rotary Clubs throughout the 9640 District.
